What is personal data?
Information about persons that makes them identifiable (directly or in combination with other data) is called personal data. Examples of personal information are: your (company) name, address, place of residence, date of birth, telephone number and e-mail address. But also the login information for your KAJA account and IP addresses are personal data.
From whom does Kaja collect personal data?
KAJA acquires and processes personal data from people who purchase products or services, website visitors, or third parties who contact KAJA. For example if you:
- Apply for a customer card;
- Place an order;
- Sign up to receive our newsletters;
- Participate in a competition or promotion;
- Participate in surveys or (customer panel) studies;
- log in to KAJA account or through social media;
- you work at or for us;
- apply for a job with us or contact us for this purpose;
- have a business relationship with KAJA;
- fill in or leave your details in one of the branches;
Contact with KAJA can take place via:
- Telephone;
- written correspondence;
- The contact form on KAJA.nl, for example for requesting the KAJA Courant;
- by e-mail;
- the registration form to apply for the KAJA customer card;
- the registration form to apply for our e-mail newsletters;
- a link included in an e-mail newsletter sent by us or another electronic message directed to you.
Furthermore it is possible that your data will end up with KAJA when we take over another company.
What personal data does KAJA collect?
KAJA collects in any case the following personal data:
- Personal data: your (company) name, address, place of residence, gender, (mobile) telephone number and e-mail address;
- Order information (for example which items you order from KAJA);
- (Interaction) data (for example your IP address, cookie IDs, surfing behaviour and which pages you visit on www.KAJA.nl, email preferences for the email newsletters, opening and clicking behaviour of the email newsletters, preferences/interests, opinions, the use of social media and contact with customer service).
On what basis does KAJA process personal data?
KAJA processes personal data on the basis of the need for this for the execution of the agreement with its customers, for example data which is necessary to take your order, deliver it and keep in touch about (the progress of) these orders.
KAJA also processes personal data based on your permission or based on a legitimate interest of KAJA. This legitimate interest consists of the fact that KAJA can make better offers to its customers and website visitors if it has information about your use of the website and your preferences.
Finally KAJA can process personal information based on a legal obligation.
For what purposes does KAJA process personal data?
KAJA processes personal data for the following purposes:
- Executing the agreement between KAJA and its customers: processing orders, delivering orders, informing about orders;
- Keeping a customer file for future orders;
- Improving the user-friendliness of the websites in order to offer optimal ease of use;
- Performing internal (quality) analyses and product development in order to improve our products and services for you;
- Informing you about interesting developments, promotions and offers through various (digital) communication channels;
- Conducting application procedures.
To realise these goals, KAJA links, combines and analyses available (personal) data (as referred to in this privacy statement) in order to determine and align the most relevant target groups and segments, content, information, moments and channels. In this way we can limit the number of contact moments with you. In some cases, this is done fully automatically.
Storage periods
KAJA will not keep your personal information longer than necessary to provide you with a good and careful service and to meet your needs. If we no longer need your information, it will be destroyed.
Provision of data to third parties
We will not provide your personal data to other parties unless this is necessary for the execution of our services/agreement, or when KAJA is obliged to do so based on a legal requirement.
These parties will only process your personal data in the way KAJA prescribes. KAJA does not sell or provide your personal information to third parties.
KAJA and other websites
On our website you will find a number of links to other websites. This privacy statement does not apply to these other websites. KAJA is not responsible for the way these websites use your personal information. Please read the privacy statement, if available, of the website you visit.
Cookie Statement

Security
KAJA attaches great value to securing personal data. KAJA will take several technical and organisational measures to protect your data. KAJA takes measures like encrypting financial data, passwords and by using firewalls and secure servers.
Camera security
KAJA has equipped her shops and car parks with clearly visible cameras to protect the safety of our employees, customers and property and to offer support in case of calamities. When entering our grounds and shops you will also be alerted to the presence of cameras. KAJA keeps camera images for a maximum of 28 days. In case of a valid reason (e.g. police investigation) camera images will be kept longer, but no longer than necessary.
Your rights
If we process your personal information, you can request to see this information, change it, transfer it to another party, delete it or limit the processing. You can also object to receiving information from KAJA by phone, mail or e-mail, unless this information is necessary in the context of our services to you. Furthermore you have the right to withdraw your permission for processing your personal data.
